Lamed Szapiro
Wylej swój gniew
Translated from Yiddish by Bella Szwarcman-Czarnota, the collection introduces Polish readers to the works of Lamed Shapiro, a distinguished prose writer until now little known in Poland. Born in Ukraine, Shapiro began his literary career in Warsaw and developed his writing in New York and Los Angeles, where he spent the rest of his life. His stories deal with painful themes – Jewish pogroms, neighborly relations – as well as universal ones such as love and loneliness, especially in the context of relationships between women and men.
