Tania, born in 1983 in Ivano-Frankivsk is a Ukrainian writer, essayist, and journalist. She graduated in Ukrainian Philology from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. She is the author of several prose books and the recipient of numerous awards, including the Crystal of Vilenica (2013), the Joseph Conrad-Korzeniowski Literary Award (2013), BBC Book of the Year (for Forgottenness, published in Poland in 2019), the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize (2018), the Usedom Literary Prize (2022), and the Jeanette Schocken Prize (2024). Her works have been translated into Polish, German, English, Romanian, Czech, and Belarusian. She contributes columns to the websites of Deutsche Welle and Die Zeit Online. Since 2011, she has been living in Vienna.
