Józef Łobodowski
A prominent figure in the Lublin Avant-Garde movement, alongside Czechowicz. He was known for his rebellious nature and controversial opinions. He was a talented poet, prose writer, journalist, and translator, and his works often explored themes related to Lublin and the surrounding region. As a passionate supporter and eulogist of Ukraine, he devoted himself to Polish-Ukrainian relations. His deep fascination with the East earned him the nickname “Ataman Łoboda”. His translations of Ukrainian and Russian works into Polish greatly enriched his literary legacy. Additionally, his time in Spain, where he worked at Radio Madrid, fostered his love for Spanish culture, as well as romances and Gypsy ballads.
