Aušra Kaziliūnaitė
osobista pustka
This collection brings together poems from Aušra Kaziliūnaitė’s three most recent books. The selection was guided by the desire to present Polish readers with a coherent portrait of the Lithuanian poet’s work—one that connects recurring themes, motifs, and poetic devices. In the poems presented here—unlike in her early work—the author moves away from formal experimentation, channeling her poetic inventiveness instead into the consistent construction of her own imaginative universe. Within it we encounter, among other things, a world hatching from a blue egg, bodies of water that only seem to exist, and “truer” versions of ourselves on the other side of the mirror. Into this fantastical collage, the poet weaves fragments of other people’s creations, shards of philosophical thought, and particles of the real world.
