Łeś Bełej

(b. 1987, Uzhhorod) – writer, translator, and linguist. He lives in Kyiv. He studied Ukrainian studies at Uzhhorod University and English studies at the University of Wrocław. He works at the O. Potebnia Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is the author of three poetry collections: Son et Lumière. Letters Without Reply (2007), The Mirror Cube (2012), and The Book of the Forest (2016), as well as two works of prose: The Wild Nineties: Love and Hate in Uzhhorod (2014) and A Rescue Plan for Ukraine (2018). He has received the Debut Prize (2008) and the Smoloskyp Award (2011). His poems have been translated into English, Polish, Czech, Greek, and Serbian.
