He graduated with a degree in philosophy from the University of Warsaw and made his literary debut in 1962 in the monthly journal Kamena.<br\/><br\/><br\/>Zadura's extensive career spans prominent roles across Poland's literary and cultural landscape:<br\/>1970\u20131977: Curator at the museum in Kazimierz Dolny.<br\/>1977\u20131987: Literary director of the Vision and Movement Theatre (Teatr Wizji i Ruchu) in Lublin.<br\/>1980\u20132004: Editor for the literary quarterly Akcent, where he also served as co-founder and vice-president of the board for the East Culture Foundation \"Akcent\".<br\/>1983\u20132020: Editor for the prestigious literary monthly Tw\u00f3rczo\u015b\u0107, stepping into the role of editor-in-chief from 2004 to 2020.<br\/><br\/>As a translator, Zadura acts as a vital cultural bridge, translating from English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Hungarian. He has brought the works of defining contemporary Eastern voices to Polish readers, including Yuri Andrukhovych, Andriy Bondar, Andriy Lyubka, and Vasyl Slapchuk.<br\/>His contribution to literature has been recognized with numerous distinguished accolades, including the Stanis\u0142aw Pi\u0119tak Prize (1994), the J\u00f3zef Czechowicz Prize (2010), the Silesius Wroc\u0142aw Poetry Award (2011), the Hryhorii Skovoroda International Literary Prize (2014), and the C.K.
